Paseo de Las Canteras

A short escape from winter to Gran Canaria, a very popular destination for (older) Europeans this time of year. I had the luck to time my stay with the coldest winter storm for a generation; there was snow high up in the mountains. And no snow in Stockholm, 6 hours by air to the north. Something strange is going on. By sea level it was pretty nice – in the right place. In Las Palmas the cool wind was enough to sweep one off one’s feet. An hour away by bus it was nice and sunny. Strange. It seemed to be more congenial to stroll along the seaside in Playa del Inglés than in the big smoke of Las Palmas
