The annual Stockholm photo fair was on during last week-end. OK, I need to get rid of some gear rather than getting more, but I could not resist the temptation to go. About half of the fair is devoted to gear, more gear and then some. The other half is exhibitions by photo schools, camera clubs and so on, and it’s usually rather enjoyable.
I thought I was clever to go mid day Friday and so did much of the photo community in Stockholm.
A good proportion of the guys (yes, mostly men) congregating around expensive gear were middle age or older. And no, there was no gear that was not expensive. As we all know, the equipment makes the photographer (well, happy at least – the wife may not share the sentiment).
Funnily enough, the exhibition of photographs was not all that well visited… Pity, some excellent photography displayed.
So how did I fare? Apart from a hot dog, not a singe purchase! I’m so proud of myself!
